Dr. Anil Prabhakar – Director

Dr. Anil Prabhakar received his Ph.D. in 1997 from Carnegie Mellon University, with a dissertation on the Nonlinear Spin-wave Optical Interactions. He has been at the faculty at the Dept. of Electrical Engineering, IIT-Madras since 2002 with current research interests in the areas of photonics, magnonics, bio-engineering and assistive technologies. He has co-authored a book on Spin Waves, has more than 40 journal papers and 5 patents. He is a Director of an IITM incubated company, Unilumen Photonics, that focuses on fiber laser development. Prior to joining IIT Madras, Dr. Prabhakar held various staff and managerial positions in the hard disk drive industry, working in areas of design, characterization and failure analysis of GMR recording heads. He was a recipient of 2007 the INAE Young Engineer, for his contributions to optics and electromagnetics.

Mark Mathias – Chief Executive Officer

Holds a B.Tech in Electronics and Communication) from IIT Madras Chennai, India, (1977) and an MS (Computer Technology) from the University of Maryland College Park, USA (1979). He has over 35 years of experience in Electronic Product Design. The notable product developments have included affordable low power appliances, Simputer and Mobilis, for use in applications to bridge the Digital Divide, and the Sathi, a product that provides situation awareness in a battlefield, designed for the Indian Army.

Prithvi Kini –  HR & Operations Head

Prithvi earned her B.A. (Hons) from Lady Shri Ram College for Women in New Delhi. She then went on to work at D. E. Shaw Research in Hyderabad covering areas of scientific recruitment and HR management. She is focused on science management and development of technology in the sphere of bioengineering and engineering. Predominantly interested on high impact solutions in India through building products for scientifically complex problems. At QuNu Labs, she primarily handles all HR/project management activities and operations. Here, she also largely focusses on aspects of business development, sales, and marketing to government institutions, defence, and banking.


Dr. Anindita Banerjee is a Senior Research Associate in Bose Institute, Kolkata, India. She received her Ph.D. in  2011 from Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT), Noida on the topic ” Synthesis, optimization, and testing of reversible and quantum circuits”. She was Assistant. Prof. in Women’s College of Engineering, Durgapur. Later she joined as Research Associate in Bose Institute, Kolkata. She is involved in setting up of a Quantum Optics Lab for single-photon-based experiments for undergraduates at Bose Institute. She has co-authored a book on  Optical quantum computation and quantum communication published in SPIE Spotlight Series. Her research interest includes quantum information, quantum computing, quantum secure communication, quantum cryptography and reversible computation.

PUrnendu kumar – senior hardware design engineer

Purnendu has submitted his thesis for Masters (MS by research 2014-17) in electrical engineering at IIT Madras for doing his research on “constant fraction discriminator” and “amplitude and rise-time compensated discriminator” for precise time stamping of Resistive Plate Chamber detector signals. In collaboration with India Based Neutrino observatory project, he has participated in design and upgrade of FPGA-based data acquisition system, test-jig development, and discrete front-end design.  After completion of his bachelors in Electrical Engineering (Power and Electronics), he was awarded Junior Research Fellowship at Department of Physics and Astro-physics, University of Delhi under same (INO) project. His current interest is in high-speed circuit design, embedded systems, IoT, FPGA implementation and optimization of complex algorithms, experimental high-energy physics, and quantum mechanics.


Yathish BP received his Bachelors degree in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi. He did his final year project titled, “Convolution Encoder, BPSK Modulator, and Demodulator, Simulated on MATLAB and Implemented on FPGA” at CDOT (Centre for Development of Telematics) Bangalore. He then completed a course in ‘Professional VLSI Design and Verification’ at Sandeepani school of VLSI design. His core areas of specialization are in hardware programming languages like VHDL, Verilog, System Verilog and UVM.

Krishnan rajesh kumar – project lead

Krishnan Rajesh Kumar holds an in VLSI Design from Karunya University, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu and a B.E. degree in ECE from Anna University Chennai, Tamilnadu. He has certifications in various domains in Electronics and Automation like DIT, ADIT, CAE. He has played a major role in modelling the Data Processing Module of the fighter aircraft in DARE-DRDO and lead various international defence aligned teams in designing the Compact Data Link unit for multiple Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV’s). His current interests are in Embedded Systems, FPGA implementation, and optimization of complex algorithms, Theoretical Physics, and Quantum Mechanics. He is currently the director of Aabelon Groups and Wecare synergy LLP.


Ravie Menon a.k.a. Lt Col P R Menon, VSM (Retd) holds an MSc Ed Degree in Physics from Mysore University, an MBA (Operations Management) from IGNOU and has certifications in several courses in Defence Technologies, ICT, Leadership & Management from the Indian Army. He has served for 22 years in the Corps of Signals, including a tenure with UN forces in Mozambique. He is a recipient of Vishist Seva Medal (VSM) from the President of India for Distinguished Military Service. Post retirement in 2006 he has had significant work experience in leadership roles in the IT/ITES Industry. His outstanding achievements include spearheading the first ever PPP R & D Project of the Indian Army which led to the development of SATHI, a handheld Battlefield Situational Awareness System and Invention of a Mobile Adhoc Networking Algorithm named Grapevine. He is the recipient of Gadhadhar Memorial Award from I.E.T.E. in 2004 for Distinguished contributions to Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering.

Sruthi Chennuri – Optical Design Engineer

Ch.Sruthi received her Bachelor’s degree in the field of Electronics & Communication Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University affiliated college. She worked for 5 years in a telecom company called Optiwave Photonics Ltd. focussed on design & development of opto-electronic products like Erbium Doped Optical Amplifier. She has knowledge in testing the Optical Amplifier characteristics like spectral width, peak optical power, wavelength and noise figure using the optical spectrum analyser. She plays a major role in testing and evaluation of the optical components. Her current interests are in lasers testing and characterization and FPGA development.

Vijayalaxmi Mogiligidda – Senior Optical & embedded systems design engineer

M.Vijayalaxmi received her Bachelor’s degree in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Affiliated College and M.Tech in Embedded Systems department from ST. Mary’s Group of Institutions. She worked as a team lead in Optiwave Photonics Limited whose focus is on design and development of opto-electronic products. She also played an important role in research and development department for the products that were interfaced with a microcontroller and in production support for the products used in defense organizations and Telecom industries. Her current interests are in optical system designing, testing, and FPGA design.

charanvir kaur – hardware design engineer

Charanvir Kaur secured a Gold Medal in (ECE) from Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar and a Gold Medal in M.Tech (Microelectronics) from Punjab University Chandigarh. She has worked as an Assistant Professor for two years in Department of Electronics Technology at GNDU Amritsar prior to joining at QuNu Labs. She has a keen interest in design and development of FPGA based products that pushed her to join the VLSI Industry. Her areas of specialisation include Verilog, VHDL, Advanced Digital System  Design, System Verilog, UVM and FPGA Design.


Ganesh completed his B.E. in Electronics and Communication from Government SKSJTI, Bangalore. His final year project titled “Transistor-level, charge-pump based design of Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) in 130nmn technology and design of an Adaptive PLL to reduce the lock-time” influenced to consider a career in VLSI. He has completed a professional development course in “Digital system design and verification” at Sandeepani school of embedded system design. He is proficient in Digital system design, HDLs – Verilog and VHDL, HVLs – System Verilog and UVM, and Analog system design
