Founded in 2016 in Bangalore, India, QuNu Labs is the first quantum key distribution company in India. QuNu Labs is incubated with Indian
Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras with the aim of collaborating with academia to conduct research on advanced versions of cybersecurity and build new technology and products surrounding it.

In the symmetric key crypto-systems, both communication parties possess an identical secret key for encryp
tion and decryption algorithms. In classical systems, the methodology for key exchange is not unconditionally secure. Quantum Key Distribu

Currently, Mr.Aluri is the Co-Founder and Chairman at QuNu Labs Pvt Ltd. He brings with him over 20 years of organizational building and corporate experience in India, UK and USA.
Mr. Aluri was a Managing Director of Morgan Stanley. He joined MSPE Asia in 2008 and focused on the group’s private equity transactions in India. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Mr. Aluri was Director of Private Equity at ICICI Venture and one of the senior private equity professionals on the team. At ICICI Venture, he led transactions including the buyout of allied businesses of Ranbaxy Laboratories, the tie-up with Dr Reddy’s, roll ups such as Iven Medicare and Swiss Biosciences as well as growth investments in Avesthagen, Arch Pharma, Malladi, Bharat Biotech, Metropolis and Onconova amongst others. He is a graduate of BITS, Pilani and a Sloan Fellow from the London Business School.
As CEO, Sunil is responsible to build vision, strategy of the company and create a highly passionate team of ‘EnterpreNerds’. He has the responsibility to deliver “Proof of business” and “Proof of scale” with his leadership team. At QuNu he has been instrumental in evangelising the technology. He is also responsible to build strategic partnerships with industry, raise funds for the business at the appropriate time and building the brand image.
He holds a B.Tech in Computer Science from NIT, Trichy, Madras Univ. India, (1985). He has over 30 years of experience in leading R&D, Product Development, Business Development and Sales functions playing multitude of roles as CTO, COO and CEO. He has led startups, mid-size and multinational companies. He has vast experience working with clients from Large multinationals to small start-up companies in U.S, EMEA and APAC regions. He has worked on some of the industry's first and leading products and solutions Telecom and BFSI space such as Finacle banking Suite, Thuraya – Geostationary satellite-based communication system
As CTO, Mark is responsible for “Proof of Technology” to convert Quantum Physics in to a field deployable technology that meets expectation and promise of Quantum Cryptography.
Mark holds a B.Tech in Electronics and Communication from IIT Madras Chennai, India, (1977) and an MS in Computer Technology from the University of Maryland College Park, USA (1979).
He has immense experience of over 35 years in Electronic Product Design. The notable product developments of which he has been a prominent part include affordable low power appliances, Simputer and Mobilis for use in applications to bridge the Digital Divide, and the 'SATHI', a product that provides situation awareness in a battlefield, designed for the Indian Army.
Dr. Anil is responsible for “Proof of Science” and has to work with QuNu Labs team to conduct experiments in his lab at IIT Chennai and deliver early prototypes using which QuNu team can build high quality scalable products and solutions. Dr. Anil Prabhakar is the current director at QuNu Labs, Bangalore.
He received his Ph.D. in 1997 from Carnegie Mellon University, with a dissertation on the Nonlinear Spin-wave Optical Interactions. He has been at the faculty at the Dept. of Electrical Engineering, IIT-Madras since 2002 with current research interests in the areas of photonics, magnonics, bio-engineering and assistive technologies. He has co-authored a book on Spin Waves, has more than 40 journal papers and 5 patents. He was a recipient of 2007 the INAE Young Engineer, for his contributions to optics and electromagnetics.
At QuNu, as Head – Product Development, Karunakaran (Kiri) is responsible to deliver a cost effective indigenized product which can compete globally on Desirability, Feasibility and Viability dimensions. His efforts translate to creating a true, "Make in India" design effort in the hardware space.
Karunakaran is an alumnus of IITM and was the founding member of C-DoT. Karunakaran left C-DoT in 1992 to start Deccanet Designs which was acquired by Flextronics in 2004. In the last few years, he has been mentoring couple of start-ups in building AI based Cyber Security products. He has vast experience in building hi-tech products for India market including the government and defence.
At QuNu, Ravie is responsible for business development and sales of the products and solutions, especially in Govt. and Defence sectors. Ravie also plays a role of an in-house customer to provide inputs to product management to build the right product.
As Lt Col P R Menon, VSM (Retd), he served 22 years in the Army Corps of Signals. An ace programmer in his early years, he has 16 software products to his credit. He is best known for his exemplary role in steering the Army's First PPP R&D project which led to the development of the World's First Handheld Battlefied Situational Awareness System, the 'SATHI'. Ravie also invented the mobile Adhoc Networking Protocol called "Grapevine" implemented in that system for which he was awarded the Gadhadhar Memorial Award from I.E.T.E. Post retirement, Ravie has had seven years of leadership experience in IT/ITES sector before joining QuNu, including setting up and heading a Software Startup for a German MNC Group.
Being a Quantum security specialist and theorist, her responsibility at QuNu is to build “Security analysis” of the schemes being implemented in the products and validate that the implementations confirm to the quantum security requirements and specifications.
She received her Ph.D. in 2011 from Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT), Noida on the topic ” Synthesis, optimization, and testing of reversible and quantum circuits”. She was Assistant. Prof. in Bengal College of Engineering and Technology for Women, Durgapur. Later, she joined as Research Associate in Bose Institute, Kolkata. She is involved in setting up of a Quantum Optics Lab for single-photon-based experiments for undergraduates at Bose Institute. She has supervised single photon experiments in the Optics Lab for postgraduate students.
At QuNu Labs, Prithvi is responsible to ensure that operations run smoothly and efficiently and all the resources are optimally utilized in the product development and “Value Creation” process.
Prithvi works as a startup catalyst with 4+ years of demonstrated history of working in the high-technology industry. Prithvi earned her B.A. (Hons) from Lady Shri Ram College for Women in New Delhi. She then went on to work at D. E. Shaw Research in Hyderabad covering areas of scientific recruitment and HR management
